Hi all,

I thought that when in MF (manual focus) i should see the center of my viewfinder enlarged...
But it does not happen with me.. .What do i do wrong ?
I put the FOCUS CHECK ON in the setup, no difference if OFF...

Thanks for any advice .

Patrick

yeah in MF the centre of the viewfinder does enlarge but only while your turning the focus ring. After a second or so of not moving the ring it goes back to the normal view to alow you to compose the shot.

The button in the centre of the focus settings dial will auto focus for you in MF mode. then you can just tweak it with the ring.

You cannot use the ring in C or s modes, and you can only use face detection in S mode. :)

Thanks for fast answer !

But unfortunately i can't reproduce this enlarged viewing in MF in any mode !
I got my camera 2 days ago and can't remember having seen this....

I tried in several modes and lens position. FOCUS CHECK is ON...

Stange ? Can it be a camera problem ?

Not a camera problem, there is a setting somewhere that turns that on and off but I dont remember off the top of my head where it is.

recheck pages 72 and 93 of the manual. maybe you have the focus selector in the wrong position. You should be able to get MF to work in all modes, appart from movie mode.

the menu AF modes can only be selected when you have the S focus option selected.

There is nothing in the manual that tell you you can overide the AF-M mode with the software options... In fact it states that the software options are disabled in all but the AF-S mode.

Like i say check your getting the dial in the correct place. Diagram page 72. Then check your using the focus ring. It's the thinner ring behind the zoom ring ( closer to the camera body).

If you can't get it to work take it to your local fuji dealership. even if you didn't buy it there they should still have a look at the camera for you... Simply for the fact if the camera does need to go back it's faster to use the warranty directly with fuji! They may charge you for the privalige. But they will know how to work the camera at least!

works EWF/LCD mode 30fps, not 60fps!

It only enlarges the center portion when you're in 30FPS mode, not 60FPS mode.

Strange though, because unless you changed that yourself, my s6000fd as well as my brother's came in 30FPS mode...hmm...

Regardless, change the screen mode to 30FPS and it's all gravy.
