card formatting

i own a fuji s602 and recently purchased a hitachi 4gb microdrie from a seller on ebay.co.uk. when i try to use the camera with the microdrive installed the camera says the card is not formatted. ive trawled the manual but there are no references for this. i emailed fuji but received no reply. any ideas? :confused:

No I took the card out of the camera and when i put it back in it told me to format the card. help!!!!! :confused:
