This is my first post on this forum,
Hello to everybody!

I am planning to buy a set of conversion lenses for my camera + CPL filter.
My current camera is Cann A510. I will change it in ~one year. Most probably
with Canon 6xx.

I want the posibility to re-use the lenses + filter.
A510 has adapter for 52mm lenses while A6xx has adapter for 58mm lesnses.

Question: shall I buy 58mm lenses + step-up ring or 52mm lenses?
I would prefer 52mm due to size. Will 52mm work on A6xx?

Thanks!

Checkout lensmateonline.com- i believe they sell a 52mm adapter for A6xx series cameras..If so, obviously go 52mm. Also... make sure you buy QUALITY glass. none of the cheap Sunpak and opteka crap. It really does make a difference.

previous advice seems good to me

Stay away from those .4x plastic glass elements found on ebay, they are distortion filled rubbish.

There is also Canon accessory wide (part # WC-DC52) but I think I concluded the lensmate was optically better some time ago. Only buy something where you can see samples of a lens in use is the best policy.

I can buy (except Canon): cokin/kenko/giottos. Any recomandations from this?

So, no problem with 52mm on A6xx? Good news:) !

i dont have any personal experience with any of those nominated
really deep conversions ought be avoided
.8x or .7x are more acceptable to my mind

the problem is this
with the converter actually in front of the lens, it tends to magnify distortions and aberrations. In other words, whatever faults your camera lens has, it will be magnified by a converter

Only buy something where you can see samples of a lens in use is the best policy.
