Hey all i have a s6500fd and am using the S7raw program to process RAW images.

I'm having a little dificulty with the package however. It seems to make my images duller and noiser than the Fuji Finepix viewer program. I took some portraits the other day then the thums were perfect, nice pink tones clean images, But on outputting them throught S7raw they became grainy and grey.

I've had a play with a lot of the settings in the program including the FinepixRGB and vivid output options, but nothing matches the colours in the thumbs!!! It's realy anoying me now! I reset between uses and hplay with all the options... But nothing i do in this program matches the thumbed output! Help would be apriciated!

thanks

Well so far I haven't found anything that works as well as the finepix studio for processing raw from these cameras. At least not as clean. It may not be the most flexible of programs but it does the trick. I fine tune the tiff in PS then save as jpg.

thanks i didn't even know that piece of software existed! it's not bundled with this camera.

here's the link for anyone else wanting to try it ( i think it's downloading atm so might be wrong).

right the link abouve is not supported byt the software released with the S6000/6500. If your lucky enought to have the software with an older camera then it will work.

The raw convertor that fuji now supply is found on this website.

http://www.fujifilm.com/products/digital/download/02/index.html#raw

the section on the page is titled "CCD-RAW data Conversion Function Updater for FinePix S6000fd/S6500fd user" It's at the very bottom.

Will post back the results of this program once it's downloaded and i've had a few hours playtime with it!

right i've finally got the fiji software running properly. The cd doesn't install properly on my machine, i get no shortcuts to the fuji studio, or start bar options. I did manage to locate the .exe in the finepixviewer installed files.

c:/programfiles/finepixviewer/extensions

it's there if anyone else has this issue. If it complains about missing dll's there alo in theat folder and need copying and pasting into the system32 folder in your windows install.

It is better than the s7raw program. Slower and clunkier feeling, But it doesn't mess up the image brightness. Thanks again for pointing out the program.
