Just had my 2nd event photography job here in london, was doing this charity foundation for Filipinos around london and stuffs. so i was invited and ask to take some pictures for them... so i did, event was pretty fancy one of the top university here in London, LSE (london school of economics).
Lots of political personnel as well from the Philippines embassy and some important educational sector people.
Then, was having a break with one of my friends in the balcony smoking the free cigar provided by the charity, suddenly, i forgot my lighter, and i realized i only have 2 more minutes before the main event start,so i rush back to get my lighter, so i hold my camera with the strap on my shoulder, then KABOOM! fell over the floor, like 360 degree turnover and end up lying down in the floor, was totally &*(^ up!!!! my 30D flew on the floor, the batteries were like flying on the other side! totally smashed the 30D!!!! and everybody in the event was staring at me for like 1 min! 1 min total silence, 1 min to mourn for my camera :( IT WAS EMBARRASSING, so i rush to pick my cameras which im so scared its totally busted...
BUT hey, it i just put back the batteries, then everything seems to be fine, until now, no damage or scratch whatsoever, thinking it really smashed on the floor that even made the batteries from my grip to flew all over... well, it was really a very shameful event, but what the hell! at least ive got paid, and prove it that 30D is a tough well-built camera!!! (knee pains, back pain, and heart pain are the price!) hehe
