I am excited and nervous! I never ordered a camera on line before! I ordered it from Amazon! The price was right and the $50 rebate expires on the 31st! I hope I love this camera!

For the most part, I think you're gonna really enjoy this camera. My ONLY "issue" with this camera is the AUTO mode. It just bumps up iso speed a tad too much for me on indoor family event type photos. Now I just set it to APERTURE mode and dial the iso down to 200/400 and it works great. Outdoor photos in AUTO are very nice. I bought this camera to capture indoor athletic event pix and it does the job well for me. I bought mine from Dell on line and had no issues. Dell offers a 21 day return policy w/o restocking fees but I liked the camera. Enjoy... Troop

Yup i have one too. Mines the european one so it's listed as a s6500fd... but the 6000 and 6500 are the same.

Agrees whole heartedly with whats been said above!

My biggest piece of advice is read the manual to the point where you understand most of it! The camera is simple to use but offers a lot of controll if you want. And to get the most out of the camera you have to get away from the auto mode.

There's a little program calles S7raw that will decode fuji raw, This is realy good as it means your white balance, lighting and noise reduction haven't been set by the camera. You can tweak your images to the correct settings when your sat at the p.c looking at the picture :) It's also free, just be warned RAW files are about 16Mb in size and take a few seconds to write to the memory card.

I sure will! I am very excited about this camera...not sure why....I loved my
s5100 if the stupid piece on the door didnt' break I wouldn't be getting a new one...but now that I have too.....well it is exciting! I hope I love and can get some great shots! The pictures I have looked at on this site are amazing! So I can only hope.
Amazon says it is ready to ship and waiting to be picked up which should be tomorrow! so I hope it is here by Wed! But chances are by the end of the week!

it's here! I think I am in love! LOL! I haven't read the manual yet but popped in the batteries and started to shoot! I love the man. zoom! Granted it is taking me a little time to get use to but I like it! The colors are so vibrant! I like the feel. it is a little bigger and heavier than the s5100 but that is OK!:D

Hi All,

After a long hesitation between different cameras, i finaly bought the S6500fd (EU name of the S6000fd) and received it 2 days ago.

2 things are not top... the LCD/EVF and AUTO mode.
EVF is not sharp enough, a pity because i prefer to shoot thru the EVF.
The LCD is not bright enough if our sunny days...
The AUTO mode is pushing ISO to high, making noisy and washed out pictures.

But after a few hundred shots in manual or A/S/P/SP modes, i must say that the camera shoots excellent pictures. Sunsets in SP mode are amazing !
It is a very well built camera and a bargain for the price ! (here 355 Euros at Amazon.fr)

Some of my shots are on my flickr page (http://www.flickr.com/photos/RadioCorsica/)

Greetings from Corsica !

wow! What great pictures!
I have been playing with mine..unfortunately haven't been able to go out and take lots of interesting pictures. Hope to this weekend! I didnt seem to have a problem with increased noise on the auto mode. Maybe I am use to it? I had a fuji s5100? But I really can't wait till the warmer weather and out vacation! I think i will have some fantastic pictures!
