I got my new fz50 last Friday and so far I like it. It adds enough over the fz20 to make it a worthwhile upgrade. I have not got out and shot too many pictures with it, but from what I have taken I think I am getting better looking results than I did with the fz20. I do like all the added/changed features.
Anyway, I'll be selling the fz20 (not because I don't like it. Wonderful camera, but I need to pay for the fz50). If you know anyone looking for one, let me know

the romance of the fz-20 is gone. there was such a large lens on the fz-20, it gave me a euphoric feeling. all that glass working for me.
the lens on the fz-50 is smaller, tighter, more businesslike, not as romantic as all that glass on the FZ50. yea, i own one. the D80 has lots of glass on it's lens.

For me, the "romance" of my FZ20 was and still is that astonishing f/2.8 constant aperture, even at 432mm.
On a monopod in dimming outdoor light when other "superzooms" have to quit past 300mm?
"Golleey"!

Hang onto the old FZ20, its not a bad camera to toss in the glovebox so you are never far from a camera.
I had to take mine out of the SUV for the winter the battery can not take the cold temps.
