s9100 = should i use xD or CompactFlash?

which of the 2 would be a better option? i know that xD cards are more expensive but are they faster? (referring to type H)

As far as I know, manufacturers daclare speed of xd at about 4-5MB/s. You can buy CF card with declared transfer ~5MB/s for less money than xd. Or for nearly the same money as xd you can buy ~15MB/s compact flash. This is theory.

I don't think it makes a differance when you use the camera... the only time you notice the speed differance is transfering files to the p.c.

I've seen 2Gb Xd's for £47. And there even chaper is you shop online.
Compact flash could be chaper still.
