Hello,
I just signed up for this and wanted to introduce myself. I have a Canon Rebel Xti with the 18-55mm lens and the 75-300mm lens. It was a Christmas present. I have been playing with it since getting it and LOVE IT!
I love photography, especially landscape. But also love taking photos of people as well. (especially my own 2)
Here is a link to bp.com if you want to see some of my work. I would post it here, but im not quite sure if you allow that.

I also just signed up and was thinking of the same camera that
you have. My daughter has a Canon and loves it. I would also
like those lens. I want to take pictures and dog agility events
and wonder how it does at fast paced things. Glad to hear you
like it. Was it order off the internet or bought at a store. I am trying
to decide if I want to order off the internet.

Thanks.
T06 - I was born in the UK, but grew up in NZ. Hence the name.
Carlene - I think we looked on the net, but he ended up getting it at the store. (circut city)
I love the camera but would love another lens. I am considering the 28-75 lens by Tamron. I have found some on Ebay for $55.00. Does anyone have this lens? Is it a good one to get? Where its not a Canon lens, I am weary.
Thx,
Michelle

I own one for my Nikon F80 and I think it's a great lens - sharp and very low distortion for a zoom. I love the fact that it has a constant f/2.8 aperture because I shoot with ISO 100 film whenever possible. And it isn't nearly as heavy, nor is it as expensive, as the similar lenses from Canon or Nikon. It's the lens that lives on my F80 most of the time.
Keep in mind that on your XTi, the crop factor will make the lens into the equivalent of 45-120mm so if you're looking at it as an upgrade from the 18-55 kit lens, it might not cover enough of the wide end for you to use as an "everyday" lens. Tamron also makes a 17-50mm f/2.8 lens (for digital cameras only) that has received some very positive reviews.
Congratulations on your new toy and welcome to the forum!

Wow cool, thats the same thing I got for Christmas :) . I've been having fun with mine too. I have also been using my 300mm EOS lense with it. (Its a lense I used on my Rebel 2000).

Talk about lucky....I had to fall off the side of a mountain and rupture my ACL, before the wife felt guilty enough to let me buy my new camera :D .
Based on KiwiBrit's forum name.....that would make me AussieKiwi :) .
Welcome to the forum.....and I apologise in advance for all future replies that I give to your future posts :p
