I have a Nikon D100, is NikonNX software the best for me to use?

Nikon Capture NX is your best option, second would be Adobe CS2 or CS3Beta, Adobe being much more expensive. I have used every and all software out there and those are the 2 that are head and shoulders above the rest.
Capture NX has a free 30 day trial, give it a whirl, its a great program!
