Currently I am using an old Sony Mavica 1.6 megapixel....but with a 1year old and another on the way, I am looking to upgrade. From all of the sites and reviews, I am considering a Cannon A80 or a Nikon Coolpix? Any suggestions? Now the Nikons...I don't understand the order they were released or which is better....did they start with the 4300 then released the 4200, then 4100? Which of those three is better? Any help of insight is appreciated....I am basically lost here and really don't know too much. Thanks!

The A80 gets my nod. Even though I am a Nikon fan, the recent crop of consumer cameras has left me shaking my head.
But don't take my word for it. Go try them out and decide from there. What I like an don't like may not mean a thing. Picture quality should not differ dramatically so it's all in what you like.

Thanks George. Is there anything negative about the Nikons...right now I found a web site dealer (http://www.digitallydiscovered.com) where I can buy the 4300 for $219...which I thought was pretty good. And was I correct the 4300 is the oldest of the NIkons 4000's? THANKS AGAIN!
