I recently purchase this filter glass for my Tamron 28-75 lens. Is this a good filter to be used on my lens? My main purpose for the filter is to protect the lens glass and prevent any dust from getting on the lens glass. Should I have gotten a UV filter glass or is this clear coated glasss just fine?

After opening up the package for the filter I notice that the glass was dirty and I try cleaning it with a brush and lens cleaning solution. Not the filter is not clear as it originally was. I think there is a thin film of that solution left on the glass. I guess cleaning with those lens cleaning kit is not a good idean. What is the best way to clear up that filter glass?

This is the filter glass I purchased from B&H

I can not offer help to clean your filter, but here is the long thread about the use of filters.

You migh try a Micro-Fiber cleaning cloth. I have found them very good as a final cleaning.
