extended warranties

Does anyone know where to buy the best extended warranty at a resonable price. I am looking for the kind where you can replace instead of trying to repair a camera. the value of the camera is under $500 thank you for any help :confused:

I won't be of much help to you as, for the most part, I don't think extended warranties represent a good value. That said, I know that B&H Photo offers extended warranties on much of what they sell. They are through a third party company called Mack (or something like that). Mack probably has a website you could check out.

I do maintain insurance on the more expensive and fragile pieces of photographic equipment I own. In addition to theft and normal perils, it covers the listed items for such things as damage because I dropped it (or at least that is what they said it covered when I asked about dropping an expensive lens).
