I just bought the FZ50 and I have one quick question: Is there a way with this camera that allows for all colors to be blocked (turn up black and white) while leaving one color? I know other cameras, even far less expensive Point and Shoots have this feature. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks. LD

I know this doesn't answer your question, but is doing it on a computer instead an option for you? That way you don't sacrifice any information in the picture, as you can save the original and play around with the colors. Or what?

only the Canons have that feature. you are referring to colour accents.
it can be done on the PC and would probably turn out better.

I agree with the previous 2 replies, do your color changing/editing in post processing. It provides better results and you still have the original data if you need it.

In the sense that it's best to convert to greyscale after downloading, nonetheless, according to the review, in the "Color Effects" menu of the FZ50, there IS a "Black & White" option if you choose to use it. I know my FZ30 has that feature, though I've never used it.

As John said look under "color effects" there are 4 effects and one is black and white.

he's not asking about how to set it to B&W....he want to know how to enable the colour accent feature that is Canon exclusive.
like when the whole face is in B&W and the eyes alone are blue or the lips alone are red.

Sorry, I did not understand......you must use a Photo editor for that with a FZ camera....

IMHO that is one feature I see no point in having......but then I do not believe in doing the editting in the camera.
