I am looking to buy a Nikon D70 and Digital Liquidators and A&M photo offer basically the same deal- am wondering if they are the same company. Anyway has anyone done business with them and would you recommend me doing business with them? Does anyone know of a reputable place to get a D70 at a good cost? I rather pay a little more if the seller is not reputable.
Thank you,
Megan (USA)

I purchased a Nikon D 100 from them last year. It was a new camera but was Offshore warranty. I specifically demanded USA equipment and they sent it with a warranty card from a mail-in New Jersy Company! My camera works ok but they are simply misleading if not outright liars. I am a experienced 60 year old shopper and this was the worst shopping experience of my life.
If you don't know how to deal with high pressure sales don't even call these guys. I was astonished to see that they are still in business.

A&M photo has an extremely bad reputation - I would avoid them like the plague. Look at Crutchfield electronics, newegg.com, Circuit City.

Thanks for the advice. My only concern is that Magazines like Popular Photography lets these companies (Royal Camera, A&M Photo, etc) advertise in their magazine and all I have heard about them is negative and that I shouldnt do business with them. Why does pop photo let them advertise in their magazine??

I just had a bad experience with A&M. I called them to order my Camera, asked if it was in stock, the guy said yes it would be going out today. I wait and wait... (about two weeks) Decide to check the order status online Says the unit is backordered.. I call and they go yeah, we're not going to be able to get that camera for you. Of course, that was the first I heard as they hadn't bothered to contact me at ALL, and if I hadn't called again, i wouldn't have known at all. That's no way to run a business.
