A Sigma 15mm f2.8 fisheye! Straight out of the 5D at ISO 3200, f2.8, 1/800, about 8 inches from her eyes:

Is it the EF 14mm f/2.8L USM? Although it might be the EF 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye since there's some curvature in the image. I could be totally wrong though.

Well you fooled me Jamison, although I did have a hard time believing you'd spend over $3000 AUD on a lens, so i wasn't even sure. Hope you're having fun with the new toy.

Had a hard time believing that I'd have a hard time spending that much on a lens...You know this is Jamison right? Just in case you had me confused with Andy :D :p .

Hey Jamison, nah i didn't confuse you with Andy. I know you have the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS and a 5D and they're both a lot of money. I just thought that the EF 14mm f/2.8L was very expensive for a lens that probably wouldn't get anywhere near as much use compared to your other lenses in your wedding work. The pictures look good, i like the B&W.

Sweet. Congrats on the newly acquired lens. It looks like you had some fun with it. I don't think any one mistook you for me, but that doesn't mean I have a problem with it! :p
Hows the 5D been working out for you? I think I already know the answer to that question - but I'm thinking a full report is due shortly, is it not?
[\ Still location shopping BTW, ;) its tough. /]

"Gone fish-in." Nice shots Jamie. How do you find the AF on that lens?

LOL Andy - Got a model shoot next week and another wedding on 1/27. I'll file my report then...wanna gather all the data and break the new toy in a bit.
[\ Still location shopping BTW, its tough. /] As long as it's not a KOC hall, I think we'll be OK!
Pete - so far so good, though I haven't really had a chance to test it out properly. One thing's for certain - it auto focuses better than the Peleng 8mm that it replaces!

This is cool. How'd I miss this thread? And what's a KOC hall?

Knights of Columbus I believe - Much like any other American Legion hall . . . I've coined the phrase in my battles to prevent such a tragedy from occuring, "Kentucky fried wedding."

Looking good Andy, monos are very dramatic.
I heard you can de-fish the image in software with good results, have you tried this at all?

Oh so it would be ugly like my first "wedding". More like....well nevermind.

Now there you go getting us confused. These images must be cooler and funkier than my normal shots!
No, I haven't tried de-fishing. Kinda defeats the purpose, huh?

I would actually love a wedding where we could shoot it "white trash" on purpose...start at a trailer park, take the junky car to the beat up old southern tin-roof church, and finish up at a baloon and streamers decorted KoC hall. A lot of low angles, close in with a wide angle lens, processed extra saturated...album done in white pleather with a gold round cameo....

For most stuff sure, just I've read recently it works well if you need ultrawide without the fish look (like say architecture or something).
You gotta stop this: I went and bought that damned 35 L because of you - don't make me buy a FE too! :D

Yeah but see you could pull it off. With me, it just proves I have no idea what I'm doing.

Yeah, but at $500 a Canon 15mm FE would be the cheapest lens in your bag! (there's no way you'd stoop to the level of the Sigma I just bought)
