I just got the Panasonic FZ50 and when I download the picture to the provided software to Silkpix for RAW conversion the picture comes out really nice. But when I transfer it to Picasa 2 and My Pictures or anywhere else it comes out totally purple. And no amount of adjusting the white balance or anything else makes a difference. Its just makes it light or dark purple. Im hoping somebody can help me with this problem.

Steve
Thanks

Hi:

You will need to be a bit more specific.

When you preview the RAW file with Silkypix it looks OK? After you save it as a jpg it looks OK with Silkypix? What do you mean "transfer it" to Picasa - just copying it to another folder? Try viewing it in the existing directory that Silkpix saves it in.

Can you post a sample?

You take the picture in RAW that is stored in your camera. Then you transfer it to Silkypix thats converts the picture into the picture you took. Then you want to transfer that picture to My pictures or Picasa2 for storage. When I transfer that picture it becomes a very nice looking JPEG file. Is that the way the final picture should be? Or should the final product be RAW and im doing something wrong? I hope I made sense?

You have conflicting settings from one software to the other. If you want to save the pic in RAW & it's saving as jpeg then your settings aren't correct unless your software won't let you save in RAW that is.

At this point it's a jpg.

I'm assuming you just drag and drop into your Picasa folder.

It's jpg as soon as you "convert" it. Moving it elsewhere does not matter.

If you converted it into a jpg then it is not RAW, though you will have that file as well.
