Another nice high-action set. Great stuff. Horizons are a lil loppy on some though. Might wanna save the drinks for after the games. :D

Super stuff! The noise for 1600 is pretty darn good considering there's black backgrounds in there. Did you do any noise reduction? What camera were you using?

Thanks. I applied High NR (chroma and lumi) in DPP from the RAW file. Camera was a 1D Mark II N. :)

Nice CW....(taken note of the separation of subject/background).
Looking at the replays on Fox News this morning.....it was a goal.

Yeah, I suspected as much - the look on the keeper's face said it all.
Missed it as usual.

Hey Ceedub,
Are they happy with what you have done so far?
Is the relationship bearing fruit so to speak

I think so, although Getty owns the rights for the whole league so the value of my stuff to the club is quite low (they can only use for editorial purposes not marketing/merchandising) - which means they can't pay much. :(
What is has done though is allow me to build a portfolio of work and develop relationships with peers already working in the industry from which I can leverage. Currently in negotiations to shoot the aerial ping-pong for 2007 so things are going to plan - which I wouldn't have been able to bid for without being able to demonstrate some experience at National League level.

Not yet my friend - negotiations are only early, looks promising but I won't get really excited until I'm on the ground at the SCG in March. I don't like attempting to re-cork champagne bottles IYKWIM.
The ultimate goal is to tour a season or two of F1/MotoGP, or maybe World Cup 2010 in Africa?
One can dream! :D

OT: Met a guy from the Central Coast last night who was using a 600/4 IS for football. I quizzed him and he said he normally prefers the 400 (especially at Bluetongue where the lighting is about 1EV lower than Aussie), but his 400/2.8 IS had a golfball go through the front element at a recent event!
Ouch!

Hope the negotiations are going well CW. Great shots as usual. Do you use a monopod or a tripod with the lens usually? A golf ball through the front element, what's the chance of that happening. Pretty unlucky especially to such an expensive lens.

Thanks. Usually a monopod, tripod is a bit clumsy for most sports.
When the front element is the size of a dinner plate then I guess the chances are increased. :D

Probably a long shot.
