It seems like some of their camera have sports mode and some dont. The ones that dont you cant seem to get them tweaked enough to even use with fast action but those that do have a sports mode, even in manual you can adjust them enough to get decent shots.
Like the A510 and A520 have the sports mode and they seem to shoot sports well but the A530 and A540 dont have a sports mode they are both laggy.
Is it the LCD? faster refresh rate or somthing?
