View Full Version : Casio Exilim Z-60 - Sand in lens

I bought a Casio Exilim Z-60 and got sand in the lens. I'm sure the repair won't be covered under warranty and even if it somehow is, I am currently backpacking and I can't stay in one place long enough to wait for the repair. I am thinking of opening up the camera (is this hard?) and blowing a can of compressed air in and seeing what happens. How good/bad an idea is this?

Don;t open the lens. You may very well damage it beyond repair. Find a repair center when you get back. For now I recommend you shoot film. If you haven't got a film camera which you should, :P, then try and find those one time use ones.
Have a great time on your trip!
