Gateway DC-T50?

Does anyone have any information/reviews on the Gateway 5 megapixel camera? I'm debating as to whether to keep the one that I bought this weekend from Best Buy. They are apparently Toshiba 5 MPs with the Gateway label. Thanks!

I just recently bought the gateway dc-t50. Takes good pictures when the camera takes them. Im a noob at the whole photography thing so It could be me. I dont like how long it takes to take the photo. You hold it half way down and you wait and can hear the camera zooming and shuttering and whatever else its doing. Ive also noticed during this you can really easily pic up alot of blur.
taking pictures inside isnt great either, some come out really good and some dont.

Im thinking of exchanging mine for something else.


Anyone else have or toyed with this camera?

I toyed with the T50 today at Best Buy and I thought it wasn't worth the money. The buttons are way too small (they're smaller than tic-tacs!), and the view finder isn't very good. I bought the M42 (4.1 MP) instead, for $179. It's $50 cheaper than the T50, and has a nice clean interface. It's simple to use, and even beginners can use it. The buttons are easy to understand, and viewing pictures and trashing them is very easy.

It's got a 1.6" F/C LCD and a nice large view finder. The LCD didn't work too well when pointed in near-direct light, but this is to be expected. The icons on the screen are easy to spot, and are different colors to distinguish them from each other. The mode icons are the same ones Minolta uses.

All of the modes seem to fuction well. The macro mode is impressive, and the sports mode is accurate. The movie mode also fuctions well enough, considering its limited size.

It also interfaced easily with my Sony VAIO. Downloading to my PC took less than 5 sec a piece; not too bad considering each file was 976 KB.

The only quarky thing I noticed is the lens cap. It pops it off itself when it starts up, so you never have to remember to take it off. Weird. Also, if the camera goes idle, you have to press the power button to pull the lens back in.

The Gateway T-50 is a joke! It is a Toshiba with poor reviews in disguise.

The Gateway DC-T50 Is not made by Toshiba, it is a Cannon product, and is avery fine camera !!:)
