I need one too... hp site does not carry it....any one have any?
I called HP 4 times to talk to some foreigner and to get dis connected twice. Once i got referred to a site called Ambry. Ambry will get you the part if you have a part number.... of course HP didn't think to include that number on it's part....hmmm....
i think i will goo with a different company soon.
P.s. Samsung digis suck eggs too.... and kodak easy share seems to be the best for the cheapest so far... although i'm ready to get a bigger and better camera....maybe canon?

New info from Ambry.com...

it is an lcd for model no L1839A HP
M407 digital camera. Can't you look it up this way? Or maybe there is another dealer that you know of?

Our system isn't setup to determine part numbers, we can only search by a part number and those part numbers do not come up. As for dealers the best I can suggest is to search on google for someone that sells the camera as very few vendors do in our circle, we mostly deal in computer hardware, server parts etc...

part in question... maybe you could
make heads or tails of it and let me
know what part i can buy. HP referred
me to Ambry so know that you must have
the part there. Please tell me you do,
because it's such a simple fix! again,
it is an lcd for model no L1839A HP
M407 digital camera and the numbers i
have are A40801604010A.06
TO018THEB1 436NIDA0052356 and
1890000070 4 08 30 L2
Can anyone please finalize my
purchase? Please help.

Unfortunately none of the numbers you included come up for us as valid numbers in our system and I was unable to get any hits on google for them. I'm sure they are manufacturers internal numbers before selling them to HP but nothing came up and I am unable to determine a part number for the replacement lcd.

looks like a simple fix is not that simple....:eek:

Just to let you know I managed to get this LCD sent from China to the UK. They are out there if you look hard enough and BUT I had to buy 10. Incidentally the part is either TC018THEB1 or 1890000070 made by Toppoly. The 4 seperate digits underneath the 189.... part reference seems to be a serial number as they are different on each unit. My defunct screen is 4 07 07 L5.

It makes me sick thinking that HP can't be bothered to stock or source the LCD's despite them still being available. I don't suppose they stock the lenses either. I shouldn't single out HP though, most other large companies are just as bad. I hate throwing things away when a small cheap but major part (not available) fails.

Good luck. Seeing as the last post here was around 6 months ago. I expect this news has come a bit too late for most of your M407s

Hi

I would be interested in buying one of the screens. If you have any spare, please let me know how much (+P&P - I am in the UK).

Greetings.
This is my first post.......
I have 2 HP M417 cameras that have broken lenses and lcd screens. I have managed to get the lenses back to working but the lcd screens need replaced.
My part number seems to be the same as the numbers for the M407. Probably are the same for many of the HP 1.8" screens.
I see by punk001s previous post that he was successful in obtaining these screens directly from China. Any help from him would be great.
I am on the same quest as other posters so I will be checking often to see if any of us has scored these new screens.
And I also think this isn't right that HP doesn't provide replacement parts for thier products.

I have had appalling service from Canon... They have refused to honour the warranty on my camera (8 months old, but they won't honour an international warranty - I have read so many many bad stories and reviews about them since then - I won't be buying any Canon products ever again). Maybe try to email HP instead. HP has fantastic service in my country.
