so thanks to everyone for your advice on a camera for basketball.
i ended up getting the f30 for christmas and had an immediate opportunity to try the shots i wanted... in Madison Square Garden

the arena lighting made for an interesting learning curve, as the first of these were the among the first thirty shots i took with my camera

i think they turned out pretty well, let me know what you guys think

They turned out pretty good for the first time out. I would have been pleased if it were me. Looks like you were able to get there ahead of time and get some good shots down close.

No one showed up? They seemed good enough and make one's photo collection healthy.
I wish there would be some exif data that I can study but there is none.

Looks like it had trouble picking up the red in the jerseys. My friend's f30 has the same issues... red flowers come out looking really wierd.

I notice the same when taking flowers with rich colours. But again my FZ20 has the same problem and I assume many cameras have problem picking up such colours.
