Oh hell naw!!

I've had my D70s for about two months now and I have been extremely anal retentive about keeping that area clean. I don't hardly change lenses and when I do, its always in a non-windy place, the camera body is pointed down, and done very quickly. The camera is NEVER stored without a lense or the body cap on it.

So I have these spots. I've tried hitting them with air, no dice. I ain't gonna touch it. The spots are always in the exact same spot. All my scenic shots are RUINED. Overall, I am a pissed off camper.

So fuck this. This camera is under a one year Nikon Warranty. Can I walk into any nikon retailer and get them to have this fixed under warranty? I've owned the camera for two months, and I can't believe I already have spots...

Any suggestions?? This problem has PLAGUED me for a about 3 weeks now. I am just about ready to throw my POS nikon against the wall. This is really pissing me off.

Thanks for any assistance.

OK, first, I understand the anger and frustration, but its a public forum man, kill the language.

What do you mean by spots? Dust? Water? If its dust or something like that, its my understanding warranties dont cover cleanings.

Maybe you could post one of the pictures thats affected? If its a dirty sensor you could clean it yourself, I use sensor swabs and they work just fine, I was very scared the first time, but it was easy, one swipe and done.

Youll also want Eclipse Optical Cleaning Solution to put on the swabs, 2 drops is fine.

I hope this helps, good luck with the problem, I do feel your pain, keep us updated!

I agree about the language. You may be upset but we are not the cause of your problem and IMO at least you have no right to speak that way here.
Post a sample of an image showing the spots so people can try to assist you by looking at the photo and identifying whether the spot is likely caused by dust or something else.
As far as cleaning under warranty is concerned it's not covered. Dust in a camera - any camera is just something that happens. It's exactly the same as somebody wanting their tire repaired under warranty when it has a 4" nail embedded into it. If you purchased the camera from a bricks and mortar camera shop and you have some sort of relationship with them then they might be prepared to assist a customer. If you purchased via the Internet or some other impersonal method then the savings you no doubt made will have to be used towards the clean if you do in fact need one and are not capable or willing to do it yourself.

If I were you, I would definitly throw it against the wall. You dont have these kinds of problems with Canon gear. But yourself a 30D and never look back.

A) Chill the language.

B) It's not broken, it's dirty.

C) You might as well learn to clean it now because even if they do clean it under warranty, that warranty ends. You'll have to clean it yourself sooner or later.

D) Chill the language.

I guess sarcasm isnt relayed well with text. I would prefer this guy bought something other than Nikon. Just look at the first three words of the post. Not to mention the language(which doesnt need pointing out 3x btw, tps reports anyone?).

Another thing, is this the grumpy old man forum? If so, you guys are top shelf.
