d50 and pentax 50mm

i just ordered a d50 and by chance i found an old SMC Pentax-M 1:1.7 50mm laying around the house. Will it work with the d50 and how is the lense?

if you are talking about this (http://www.photoethnography.com/ClassicCameras/index-frameset.html?AsahiPentaxME.html~mainFrame)lens then it won't mount since it is K-mount and not F-mount.

Get the Nikon 50mm 1.8D, its only around $100(US). You wont even think about that Pentax after shooting with the Nikon lens.
