help, which camera to buy???

looking to get first digital camera. will be used for family, fun, vacation,ebay, etc. probably nothing larger then 5X7 ever. I have narrowed down to Nikon coolpix 3200 or Kodak DX6340. I want compact size, ease of use and quality pix, and as much optical zoom as can get. Kodak has everything but no auto focus illuminator. Is that a big deal? Nikon has auto focus illuminator light but may not be as easy to use and also uses more expensive CF storage media. Any suggestions please help. Want to purchase and have by Christmas.

I'd go with the Nikon Coolpix 3200 for the price it is a great little camera, with the ability to give you good results and something to grow into :)
