hi, new member here.

got a S3 IS about a month ago... haven't used it too much until now while i'm on vacation. problem i'm having is that the optical viewfinder is really fuzzy. when you look through it it's pretty much impossible to make out what you're looking at. focusing on something would be next to impossible also. it's almost as if an adjustment is out of whack but i know that's not the case. well, at least i think so.

the lcd works fine and isn't having any issues and regardless of what you use to take a pic with they turn out ok.

anyone else having similar issues? have read here and there that the viewfinder on these are not the best and are prone to being fuzzy but this couldn't be normal. next question is if anyone has had this issue what you've done about it? i bought the camera at circuit city and of course i can't return it at this point. i'm assuming i'd need to send it back to canon at this point to be worked on.

anyone else have the same problem?

ok, cancel this... i just found the answer to my own question.

the canon website, of all places, was helpful and answered my question. :)

Try adjusting the diopter knob to the left of the viewfinder. It is used to correct bad eyesight :-0
