I just got a Powershot SD200, I love it! As I was exploring the camera's features, I noticed that it has sounds theme settings and changeable shutter, timer, operation, and startup sounds. I also learned that you can upload your own sounds to the camera via the included Canon Utilities (Canon CameraWindow on Mac).
My problem is that I have followed the instructions to the letter for the sound files (.WAV, 8bit, mono, 8 or 11kHz, .3 or .4 seconds repsectively), but they absolutely refuse to upload to the camera. I get an error message stating, "Couldn't write to the camera since the sound data does not meet the following conditions. "8bit, 11.025KHz,Mono, .3second" or "8bit,8KHz,Mono, .4seconds". This is so frustrating because my WAV files DO meet the criteria. I even grabbed some of the WAV files that came with the camera and compared them to the ones I created. They have the same properties.
I've tried using different sound utilities to create my sounds on both my Mac and a PC, but nothing seems to work. This is so frustrating. Has anyone ever managed to upload .WAV files to use with the Canon themes?
Thanks for any help.
