i'm on the same boat as well :( if only the s6000fd had image stabilization and used SD cards, it'd make it the clear winner here

It depends on the setting and what you are taking pictures of. If it's mainly a daytime camera and you need that extra zoom (420mm vs. the S6500's 300mm), I would recommend the S3. If it's for more lowlight situations or group portraits, I would recommend the Fuji. I have the S9100, identical in zoom range- it's not great for taking pictures of nighttime soccer games, for example, but it's very good for portraits and low light still shots. The S6500fd is even better than the S9100 in low light, with useable shots at ISO 1600. Neither of the Fuji cameras has IS, though.

I dont Know abou IS,people says that's not the most important thing on camera,it's help that's for sure, nut high ISO is more important thing.Fuji has great focal range 2,8-300m,beter CCD than S3,higher resolucion LCD.
I don't know which camera take a beter pictures.I am very confused about these cameras,on some way I like S3 more than fuji, but in fiew rewiev in my country photografers says that Fuji is more closer to DSLR than any other ultrazoom camera.

While I can't comment on the Cannon I can say that I love my S6000. I do not miss IS, the high ISO more than makes up for it and IMO is far more useful. It's not the perfect cam but for the money it's hard to beat.
