I have decided to go with either the Sony W70 or the Canon 600. After reading some of the reviews on the Sony W70, I learned that some have had problems with the screen cracking, etc. I wonder if anyone could shed some light on that issue. I just want a good point and shoot camera to carry in my purse to take pics of g'kids activities and the like. I want something durable that will take good pictures and will be easy to operate and will not actually take the picture after the subject has moved. Any advice that anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated. I hope to buy within the next couple of days. Both these cameras are in my price range and have the features that I think I will need. Thanks

Both have good features, apart from a cracking LCD on the Sony and the E18 error for the Canon (check Amazon reviews).

I like my Canon A620 which replaced a Canon A95.

You should be happy with either camera you are thinking about.

I agree, W70 and SD600 are good small ones. W100 may be better than W70. What about Canon A530 or A540?

Will you be taking mainly indoor or outdoor shots? Fuji F30 is good indoors.

I did look at the A540, but thought because of the batteries it was a little big. The SD600 is much smaller and I think for my type of usage, I can go with that type of battery. I have researched so much that my head is spinning now. I know that the A540 gets rave reviews, but I think I prefer the smallness of the SD 600. I am afraid of the E18, but may take my chances. I did like the Sony W70 and the W100, but it seems that
Canon is the favored brand. I also looked at the Fuji. I have the Power Shot G-2, which takes great pictures, but I find it to be big when I am at a family gathering or school play where I am always afraid of where I may put it down. I want something to just put in my pocket or purse, and think that I will take more pictures and enjoy the picture taking more with a camera that I can always have handy due to its size. With the money my late husband spent for the G-2, I am afraid I won't use it much after buying a smaller camera. I am purchasing at Sears, and was a little skeptical about the restocking fee, but if I decide I don't like the camera, they do have a large assortment to choose from, so I would have options. I still haven't purchased yet, so if anyone has more advice, I am certainly listening. It's funny, this has been more tedious than buying a car.
