Hi there, I'm needing help with a future purchase.

Budget

* What budget have you allocated for buying this camera? U$S450~

Size

* What size camera are you looking for? Or does size not matter at all to you? I'm looking for a portable camera, size isn't one big fin that matter to me, but i'm not looking for a big one.

Features

* How many megapixels will suffice for you? On the cameras I saw, 6MP+

* What optical zoom will you need? On the camaras that I saw an ultra-zoom looks good.

* How important is “image quality” to you? (Rate using a scale of 1-10)
The best: 10

Do you care for manual controls? Doesn't matter.

General Usage

* What will you generally use the camera for? Taking photos in generall, with the family, friends, vacations, various uses non-professional.

* Will you be making big prints of your photos or not? Maybe, big no... 13x18 yes, some big maybe.

*Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos? Indoor photos yes... low light photos too.

*Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos? Yes.

Miscellaneous

*Are there particular brands you like or hate? I like Sony.

*Are there particular models you already have in mind? Yes, DSC-H2 and DSC-H5.

But here I've got a problem, i'm from Argentina and here a DSC-H2 is at U$S420~U$S450. Is the DSC-H2 a good camera? what about the purple fringing? I've read the DSC-H5 has purple fringing... I've got another choice... for U$S100+ I can buy a DSC-H5... but it goes to U$S530~U$S560. So, I preffer buying a DSC-H2 that is less expensive.

Thanks!

EDIT: Also one of the things I would go for a Sony camera is because I've got a Memory Stick Pro Duo of 2GB, so if I buy another brand, I would need to buy another card.

Excelent photos!, the high resolution look good. I wonder how the camera does in low light, but that isn't my main interest.

Thanks.

Notice you do not see any pics indoors or of people
the reason for that was the h2 was the worst camera for red eye
no matter what I did

it was great for outdoor shots and macro shots in my light tent

If you have photoshop and want to fix red eye all the time go for it

I saved up a few more $$ and got a nikon D50 and have 0 red eye issues now
so please take that into account before your purchase

* the above if from my personal exp i am in no way a camera expert

Ok... in the pics they aren't any indoor shoots or of people...

The Nikon D50 is at U$S730. Notice that U$S100 = AR$300, so it's a lot much.

Another camera in this range? that bad is the H2 when shooting eyes/indoors?.

Thanks.

EDIT: It seems very easy to remove the red eye problem with photoshop, so it wouldn't be a problem, I remove red eye for photos that I need to print. I'm planing to go to a Sony Center today to take some photos to my MS and see how it performs in indoor/red eye.
