Can someone tell me how to find the embedded JPEG that is created when I shoot in RAW mode? I use CS2, but can't seem to find where this JPEG is.
Also, when I download my RAW files to my PC a .THM file is also created, very small usually about 12kb. What is it and how can I read what's in it? Thank you for any help you can supply.

There is no JPEG when you shoot RAW. Unless you shoot RAW+JPEG, of course.
I don't know what the .THM file is, mine doesn't do that. It's probably from the software you're using. Maybe information for thumbnails or something like that.

To get JPEGs from your RAWs process the RAW and save the processed picture as a JPEG.

Are you reffering to the 300D/Rebel? The raw is just a raw file, unless you install the hack to upgrade the firmware. The hack also gives you mirror lockup and ISO 3200....along with a few other goodies.

The thm file is a Thumbnail file I believe, I can't remember what it is for. I wouldn't really worry about it.

My understanding is the .thm file is a thumbnail used for in-camera viewing and isn't used anywhere else. Does it make it for JPEGs? It's quite possible that the older Rebel (I have the same model) simply can't display its own RAW files [1] so when one is taken it creates a .thm file with a thumbnail it can view for playback, etc? Maybe it's just to speed things up.

The Digital Rebel (300D) does store a JPEG along with the RAW file. Always.

The JPEG is not a file on its own, but an image embedded in the RAW. Most programs can read it but generally there is little point and the RAW is used. I think many utilities can remove it and store it as a plain .jpg file. However, on the Rebel the JPEG embedded is not a full rez/max quality. I think it's just "large/fine" instead of super fine or whatever. Newer cameras not only store a full quality JPEG but they store them as seperate files.

1: Quite a few older cameras can't actually display RAW or TIFF files. The in camera viewing only works on JEPGs. This has pretty much been non-existant for a while now as just about any camera that shoots RAW can view it internally.
