There has been a lot of talk about the size of the cameras, but is there a difference between the quality of the pictures.

Basically, I don't mind the bigger size if the pictures are better and focusing is better, but that may not be the case, given the newer processor in the SD800. From what I gather, the SD800 is the newer technogology with a wider angle to a 4x zoom v. a bit older generation model with a 6x zoom. The A710 has more manual controls, but that is not necessary.

The reality is I will take 99 percent of the pictures of my young kids, either in my house or in the yard. I want a camera that will quickly focus in indoor lighting, and not blurr when their arms are waving or moving. I want the flash to charge fast too. I have an older Sony P10 which just doesn't consistently take good pictures. Either they are blurry and/or out of focus.

Any comments or recommendations are greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance to those constantly post - sometimes with the same answers...

The A6 series will charge faster then both of them. Like the A610-A640 Its a tad bigger then the A710. It also has a better CCD

My two pence worth having printed and been unimpressed by photos from 800, even in comparison to the 700, is to go for the A6 series which I suspect in my highly inexpert opinion will produce better quality photos.

That is surprising considering the sd800 has the newer technology. I still have not found someone who carries the A710 is. Best Buy here in Miami didn't have it.

Thanks for the comments.
