Hi all, I recently bought an a630, and i'm learning, but I still have some questions I can't figure out.

-In the movie-mode I have the ability to film with highlight or colourswap. Can i use any of these 2 modes to shoot photos? Or how can do it when pp? (i don't have photoshop or anything like it)

-What batteries are longest lasting? I currently have energizer 2500 mAh bats, could i get even better ones?

-If i try to shoot fast moving objects (like a waterdrop), i need to use fast shutterspeeds (1/200 or faster). But even at max aperture, my pics are almost entirely black. Solution?

-What would be the best size to save my pics? I'm currently at superfine, Large (=8Mp), but than they are 3Mb...

Yeah you can shoot still images with those options but you have to use scene mode. I think only those modes have the options to change the colors.

There are a little higher capasity batteries 2650mAH but 2500s are fine i guess.

When shooing fast moving objects are you using F8 or F3? also what ISO? try 100-200ISO.

It depends on the image size i like to use the large size with fine but it depends on your storage If you have plenty use the largest sizes on fine.

When you don't have bright sunlight or studio lights, it's difficult to shoot with a fast shutter speed. With a wide open aperture and pushing the ISO up high there still may not be enough light to take a good shot. Add more lights if you have them, or use the flash to freeze the action.

Shoot the largest size you can. Memory is cheap, you can get 2G SD cards for $30. If you have to, reduce the quality from superfine to fine, it's not noticeable in most cases, especially if you don't print 8x10s or bigger.

I have a slave flash, its so powerful i have to use 1/500 and F8 and ISO 100 at this speed you can do alot because there is PLENTY of light to stop the motion.

How do you set up a slave flash to an A630?
