I've been trying to decide on a mid range zoom to finish up my bag. I wan't to start doing wedding photography so I'm looking at:

Canon 24-70mm 2.8L
Canon 24-105mm 4.0L IS
Tamron 28-75 2.8

I've been reading and no one of those three completely stands apart from the other. What one lacks another will have. Allthough I love the Tamron price!

I need something to fill from 22mm up to 100mm...

Out of your experience, which would be the best for weddings and indoor shooting. Also what problems have you had with either of the above lenses.

Thanks!

I don't think you can go wrong with either, having said that I'd choose the 24-70 Canon - but I'm a f/2.8 kinda guy.

The IS of the 24-105 has merit and the extended range would be handy if you didn't have an alternative longer FL in the bag.

The Tamron is your budget but capable alternative. :)

I'm kinda curious to try a Tamron... But I've been reading that people have problems with it searching in low light... Now I know "low light" isnt really an exact amount, I've experienced this with my 50 1.8 II... Well all of my lenses actually. Hmmph, I wonder if this "searching in low light" is just too much of an expectation for a lens.

don't bother with the Tamron, i had it for a few days and returned it after testing in low light... didn't even bother to bring to a wedding.

you can't go wrong with either 24-70 or 24-105, and they'll lock in the dark, trust me :)
