Hi there,
I know that there are a lot of threads comparing the Canon S1 and Panasonic FZ3 but I am still a little confused.

I am going to Thailand for my Christmas and New Years holidays and obviously I would like to take good shots of the beaches/temples etc., for which both these cameras seem to be great. However, I often like to take shots in nightclubs/bars where the light level is very low and my question is which one of these two will perform better under these conditions.

I am slightly confused because the dpreview review pretty much says that the FZ3 has better image quality and better low light performance, and it also has an AF LED and 12X zoom.

However, over at imaging-resource they say that the panasonic has bad low low light level performance and that despite not having an AF lamp the canon is better.

Anyone out there with experience of these type of shots with these cameras?

Thanks for the help!

PeptoI doubt if you'll find anyone with experience on both cameras, other than the reviewers whose writings you've already read. What I might suggest would be for you to pick the one you like better at the moment, S1 or FZ3, and buy it from a place that will give you your money back if you don't like it. I know our local Fry's Electronics has a "no questions" policy about returning cameras, and doing that, you could actually take the camera into a nightclub and shoot some shots, see how they turn out. If you're happy, keep the camera; if you're not, take it back and get the other one. Try that one too, and if it doesn't satisfy you, take it back and trade it in for a dSLR that can handle the job! :p
