Hi! I'm going to buy a Canon A710IS and i would like to buy a SD card with it but i see a huge difference on prices. For example i can buy:

TRANSCEND 1GB 80X ULTRA for 25.64 €
SANDISK ULTRA II 512MB for 26.00 €

As you can see i can buy with the same price 512MB more

Also i can buy a KINGSTON 1GB ELITE PRO for just 23.00 €

I'm really confused.... I mean is it any problem with Kingston or Transcend or even Corsair at least on SD Cards?

Is it any compatibility issue?

Cause if its not an compatibility issue i can buy the
TRANSCEND SECURE DIGITAL 2GB 150X ULTRA for 45.99 €

I read in one post that usually these cameras cant handle 150x speeds
but it would be nice for transfer data to Pc...

Anyway i hope that u will enlight me!!!
Thank you in advance!

I have the Transcend 2G 150x card (actually, two of them). There's really no difference between cards with the same specs. Certainly Sandisk and Lexar have greater name recognition and reputation, but I haven't noticed any difference with my Sandisk or Transcend cards.

So, buy what you can get for the best deal.

Don't buy your cards on ebay. There are, I gather, too many fakes on sale. IE cards that have a sticker that claims larger capacity or cards that just don't work.

I've got the SD300 and S3. It'll work fine in the A-series, but frankly, SD cards are simply commodities at this point. Except in a few rare situations, all SD cards work fine in all cameras.

I got mine at NewEgg for $34.

I have used various size Kingston cards in a Canon A series camera with no problems whatsoever. Hope that helps.
