Hi Friends,.....I've been testing my A710 around the house and find that it's an even better camera/video than I bargained for.

I went for this camera because it was supposed to have a good movie mode, though it doesn't focus when taking videos, and the size. I use it exclusively while quail hunting with my Setters.

One of the very surprising features so far is the quality of the digital zoom while taking videos. The optical zoom locks in at the first frame but you can still use the full digital zoom. It is really quite good,.....excellent for my purposes and better than the zoom is on my Sanyo C5. The autofocus works beautifully during both digital and optical zooming.

The only limitation I find so far, and I knew this going in, is the 8 1/2 minutes total or continuous video on a 1GB card. I knew I would need a larger card or two. I have been using Sandisk 1GB Ultra 2 cards in my practice sessions and they work great. I tried a Kingston 1GB and it wouldn't capture the video.

So, I need a couple of "fast" 4GB SD card. Does anyone know which ones work in a 710, and perhaps can recommend a good source for these cards?

I'll look forward to your suggestions!

I have A710 too, and the downside as you have told already, is the format of the clips that are being made.
one more downside is that is limited to 1GB of movie (it doesnt cares if it compact or full frame-this just make the movies longer)
so if you'll buy 4 GB i think it will be useless..

and by the way, 4 gb is much more expensive than 2 GB, so i recommend you to buy 2GB x2

X Soft,....heres the way I understand it, a 1GB SD card will hold 8 1/2 minutes of the largest frame videos.....either taken continuously or in, say, 8 one minute clips. So, a 4GB, although limited to 8 1/2 minutes continuous, would take approx 34 one minute clips before a new card was needed. This is a limitation I knew about coming in and the quality of the videos is so good and the size of the camera so small that I can deal with the limitation on video size. Most of my clips are less than 30 seconds long so I should have no major problem. I do agree that a couple of 2GB cards would work also.
