Ok, this is bothering me.

When I shoot in Manuel with no flash. I use the expouse level indicator to judge the aproprait apature and shutter. This works great

now, when I have my speed light on, the speed light seems to make up for the lack of light, but it dose not refelct on the "expouse level indicator"

example.
Im takeing a picture of a chair in my house, with low light. (M) set to ISO 100, f2.8, flash bounced off the roof. I fire 4 shots, at 1/60, 1/100, 1/200, and max sync 1/250. All of the shot look the same. Cool, i unserstand that ETTL is causeing this. and only 1/250 and closed a bit like f4 will i get a darker pic (out of the flashes range of help)

But what bugging me is that the expouse level indicator is flashing -2 under expoused the entire time in all the diffren shutters. Its telling me to use like 1/8" for proper expouse...

Is this normal, and and I just to disregrad it?

I didnt even thin about it, but it seems i could still use the indicator to show me how much will be ambient light vs flash..hmmmm

thoughts?

Yea then in AV mode, it used to jump to 1/250 and stay there for almost everything. now it pulls a shutter like there is no flash at all. So bascially, AV and Tv are useless to me when i have my flash... I have to use manuel to let my flash help to stop action

You should check out the small flash and studio lighting section on POTN:

It's normal -- it's metering for ambient light. When you're using flash, you're combining two exposures -- ambient (affected by your ISO, av, tv) and flash (affected by ISO, av... and, well, distance/zooming/direction).
