Fuzzy numbers on light meter fstop on Digital Rebel Xt

Hello,

First post, I applogize in advance if it's in the wrong place or a repost (i searched and didn't find anything).

I have a Canon Digital Rebel XT. I have had it about a year and its been a great camera. I am a weekend warrior and only know about half the functions on the camera.

The problem I have is the numbers you see when you look through the eye peice are fuzzy (the green ones). This started yeserday, although I have not used the camera in a few days. Also the opject your taking pictures of appears fuzzy or slight out of focus even with the auto focus on. The picture however is focused correctly once viewed on the computer.

Anyone have any suggestions for what this could be? I charged the battery, cleaned the lense and eye peice.
