Hello all,

Just purchased a 50mm f/1.8 lens. The lens works great and very happy with the images taken. A slight concern has crossed my mind recently.

When using the lens at close range to focus on an object, the focus ring in the end of the camera tries to focus on the subject but cannot do so. This is absolutely normal, because the subject is too close for the prime lens to focus on.

However, the focus ring makes a small "twitching" sound. Is this normal?

The camera assistant told me that this was normal. Just looking for a second opinion.

Yes, it also does that when focus is correct or almost correct and you try to re-focus
