I agree. Great series. One other thought that went through my mind when the reception series began was "damn...that's money!"

Yep, Daddy spent some money on this one. A lot of great images. I'd guess he spent a bit of time on PP also. Cha-ching!!!!!!!

No doubt. Weddings just don't look like that around here. And I'm not making excuses. That's reality.
I might get flamed for this, but I believe if you know even the slightest about photography, it's kinda hard to screw up a wedding that screams "cha ching!" Everywhere you turn there are photo ops.

High end cameras and great glass don't make someone a photographer. Just look at CW's distracting background and you'll understand why he needs to shoot everything at f/1.2 :D :)

What I want to know is, if all your gear is on the table, what did you take the photo with? LOL

A Canon MVX40i (It's in his Exif data)
Do a free download fom Opanda of IExif and you'll be able to right click on most photos and get the data such as camera, ISO, focal length, shutter speed, etc.)

Yeah, I'd agree.
What's your best recommendation for creating a slide show to music?
I have Nero Pro, Adobe Photoshop Elements, and the full Photoshop CS2 Suite. I haven't emplored this in any of them but seem to recall seeing them somewhere on the boxes for them all.
Suggestions? I'm pretty sure those products mentioned will do it, but I'd love to get a recommendation.

CS2 has a couple under File/Automate/Web Photo Gallery. You can drop a mp3 into the main folder named useraudio and it will play during the slide show. There are several options for customizing it. It's pretty easy and I imagine you could do further customizing in Frontpage or similar program if you'd like.

This was a piece of cake on the iMac using Aperture and iDVD to burn it. W/o knowing what I was doing I put my nephew's hockey shots to the Beastie Boy's Fight for your Right soundtrack and it came out great using random transitions and the Ken Burns panning effect.
Now that it is in a 116mb movie file does anyone know where I can post this so it can be streamed?

I don't have one - but this is what he used: http://www.showitfast.com/
(beware: there is some really loud annoying music that starts playing when you open the webpage - there's a volume control in the upper frame. Hate that!)

Rich; I don't have a Mac. Tried to use one once, was lost. I'm just doing still slides + music, no video.
Forgot to mention; I'd really like to put this on DVD that is playable on any common TV DVD (ie: not computer). I know zero about formats but assume this is something that requires special options. Even though a computer will play a media DVD, I shouldn't assume the opposite.
I've spent the last hour messing around with it. Elements saves it to a .wmv file. 20 photos is 7 Meg. Adding music has little affect on the size. It has a PDF version too. No DVD format, but formatting is a snap.
I'll check out CS2, thanks D Thompson. I still have just CS (not the suite) on my laptop, just a matter of an install but I have to call for the unlock code (and the CDs are at work).
Nero 7 Ultra Edition says it does VCD, SVCD, Mini-DVD, DVD-Video, and DVD±VR. That might be my ticket. Thanks!

Peter, checked out that site. Very nice stuff. Not sure if the stuff I reviewed creates web-ready files. I guess if I linked to a .wmv and just warned people they need Windows XP that would suffice (for sharing with friends). Flash files, as showitweb creates, might be needed if that doesn't work out.

Vich- I'm just doing slide + audio also (no video). I just burned the resulting 'Power Point' equivalent to DVD for playback on tv sets.
If anyone knows the answer to where to host this so I can stream it I'd greatly appreciate it.

Vich, In Photoshop Elements, you can create a DVD by creating a slideshow first.

You have good taste Pete - thats excellent work you linked too. Not a bad result to strive for indeed, you know, if you were a WP. . . . How did the latest video turn out?

Thanks! I'll check it out.
Contrary to the popularity of knocking Microsoft, I usually like their stuff (except Word, yuck! - anyone remember Lotus AMI Pro, 10 years later Word's still worse - I digress). It usually doesn't knock your socks off, but the interface is consistant and the features usually work, unlike several lesser-brand products recently.

What type of post processing are you trying to accomplish. photoshop has a lot of raw power under the hood... but unless you understand how it works and how to use it. It could be a exercise in futiliy, at minimum a waste of your time. I slew had a slew of photoshop books I never read... mainly because I never did any photo editing in it I always used it as a graphics program. And knew enough to accomplish what I needed to do. I much prefered the specific tutorials you can find online. Recently I ran across some video tutorials for photoshop and they have opened up a whole new universe to me. The total training series is great. Can be found @ www.lynda.com I find them easier to digest than a thousand page book.
I thought this wedding slideshow (http://www.bumataystudio.com/index2.php)was nice too.
