I took a picture of my wifes annual Christmas masterpiece and I think I reached my camera's limit. I used a tripod, self timer, and iso 80. I did not use manual focus but I think I will to see what happens.
Comments anyone??

I dont know why, but I like it. Maybe you could do an ISO test and use the same settings but bump the ISO up for each picture, just for something to compare. Id be curious to see how it will look at higher ISO.

Manual focus did not help any. I like iso 80 the best but iso 200 more closely resembles the lighting in the room. I had a torch light on low so I would not trip over the tripod.:o

I like ISO 200 the best.. the more light the better, it really shows the lighting in the buildings the best! ISO 400 you start to notice the noise on the wall, ISO 200 is still very clean!

I'm guessing you have to be logged into SmugMug to see the images. I can't see them either, but they are posted there.

I can't see them either. The link also didn't work. I had to go to the root menu to get to them. Looks nice, are those Dept. 56 buildings?

Some of them are, some are whatever Wally World and Lowes sells and maybe a few other places. She has almost twice as many items to display but does not have the room on that board. I have another board ready so we can add on and she say's no. I think next year She will come home from work and they both we be ready for her to build her village. The village is right behind our computer desk: while setting up this year she dropped a cheaper building on top of a Dept. 56, scared the daylights out of me. The cheaper building shattered and the Dept. 56 lost just a chimney which can be repaired.
After staring at the pics again, I think I agree with Jcon that the iso 200 is best. It looks more natural overall. I wonder why some can see them and others can't. I will log out of smugmug and see if the url changes.
Wow, I logged out of everything cleared files, cookies, history, come back to the sight and see red X's. I have not given up yet!!

If you right-click on the red X, and click "Show Picture," that might work. Or, right-click and click Properties. Paste the link into your browser, and that will bring it up.
(I don't know how to make it show all the time, though, sorry)

toriaj - thanks for the tip I also sometimes get red X's with smugmug or some of the other host sites including these here. The show picture almost never works but your paste into browser worked first time - brilliant. I can also see the pictures in the forum screen now as well ? Not sure why this is but it did work for me. Thanks again Oh & Mike I prefer the iso 200 shot too.
