Help choosing please!

I am looking for a digital camera for Christmas, and I need help choosing between the Canon G7 and the A710 IS. I am currently interested in a camera that will fulfill everyday needs as well as a camera that will take great pictures when traveling. Any advice/pointers/reviews in helping me choose would be very much appreciated! :)

IMO I find it hard to justify $699 for the "G7". Well I actually find it hard to to consider the "G7" a "G" series camera. OK I'm just not a fan of the "G7". :rolleyes:

If you can find a "G6" buy it.

I agree, there isnt anything on the G7 that i can justfy paying that much. The onlything i like on the G7 is the hotshoe. Everything else i can find on an A series.

I personly would rather have an A640 over the 710 AND the G7. The A6xx cameras are nice. I have an A610 and i love it.
