Here is another sequence shot from last weekend. We are planning on going back to these jumps and trying similar shots at night if I can get my hands on enough flashes. I am also asking around trying to find someone who is willing to back flip this jump. I think it will make the shot much more impressive. Any Volunteers?

Another one from the backyard. I just haven't had time to go out and shoot something interesting.

You're surely kidding me.
Thats a top shot of a lovelly scene.

DPR - Wouldve been interested in seeing that shot with the bear fully in the shot and maybe cropped a little less/zoomed out a little more, feels just a little too 'cramped' to me.

Thanks for the feedback, yeah I thought so too at the time but I had the Tammie 90mm on camera and was backed against the far wall. I hate primes for compositional reasons. I also underexposed the shot and by the time I worked it out he'd moved. So this was the best I got. Thank goodness everyone here twisted my arm to use RAW ages ago.

now the rest of the story. Or just a little more info

I found out that Bart Millard, lead singer for Mercy Me is using this shot I took of him as his profile picture on facebook.
Taken at a concert back in October of last year, pretty cool.

But nah, on a serious note, I would've liked your shot more if it was more tightly cropped so all birds in focus were either fully in or out of the shot, the bird on the far left i find more disruptive to the image. Also would've liked it more had it had the other 2 legged kind of bird in it ;)

hi guys,

long time no post, no I haven't lost interest in photography, I was unfortunate enough to write-off my scooter a few weeks ago and as a result I was a little "sore". for almost 2 weeks i could not raise my arms to the level of my shoulders!

feeling much better now, still a bit bruised and battered but manageble at least :)

so here are 2 shots dating back some time, I am not sure about the lion shot yet but for some reason the conversion stood out to me.

I tried light painting again, this time with the 'lil lady mounted on her steed. This shot proved to be way more difficult because of her white coat, if I came even close to pointing the light directly at her it would completely over expose the area. I should have gotten the rear tire exposed a little better.

Had a modelling shoot again last Sunday. What's funny is that we "discovered" a new lighting technique (if you want to call it that). I was taking some photos (with the strobes) and realized that sunlight coming through the window behind me was giving her an interesting look. So, I turned off the PW and adjusted my settings and this is what I came up with...

Her name is Amy.

came around a corner, car in front of me decided suddently to stop just as I sneezed and bam! hit him at around 50 clicks destroyed the front end and my leg went through the front of the bike and took the key barrel with it

here a photo of where my leg went through (sorry it wasnt a nikon dslr that took the pic)

my shoulders also took the brunt of the impact and am only just getting full strength back in them.

i was very lucky not to break anything though my leg did feel broken after the impact.

i am now back riding on my old vespa so it hasn't scarred me or anything :)

I bet that's the most expensive plastic in then world as well. Just get well and in future use the mantra that all other road users are blithering idiots who will do the worst possible thing on every occasion.
My knee collected the handle bar switches during a little impromptu flying lesson caused by a car failing to give way many years ago so I know how you feel. Four weeks with one leg and one arm in plaster in summer ain't a lot of fun. :D

Reminds me of the time i drove my moped into a car at around the same speed. Had a girl on the back too without a helmet :P. Was a stupid youngster then but noone got badly hurt so lesson learned.
My hand went trough the car window and i had 7 pieced of glass in my hand which had to be removed, still hurts from tiem to time(was like 5 years ago) :P.

It's rubbish, worst shot you have ever posted. :)

Okay we got that out of the way.
It's not rubbish but it's not great IMO. I think it would work better if the rear girls were in focus and the front one out of focus but as it stands I wouldn't be forwarding it to anybody.
Using the fingers on the screen method I think if the rear girls were in focus you would have been able to crop the front girl out and still have an acceptable image.

Yeah. I actually had it on by accident that high. Normally I'd have it about half that. Yeah, a crop could work there.

Phil, really nice shot. The way the buildings are lit and the black and white conversion really works here.
I do agree with Cyberwlf about the top of the building. Even if you didn't cut it off, I think it would be better if you kept a bit more space between the point and the edge of the frame.

Here are two shots I took recently with my new lens (70-300VR). So far I really like the lens. Especially the autofocus is amazing compared to what I was I was used to. I haven't taken that many shots withit yet, because I was too busy last month, but so far I like it.

RED, fantastic shot. I love the movement in the picture.
I think your whitebalance is a bit too cool, though, judging from the snow. I think the picture would look better if you warmed it up a bit.

Phil, nice shot. I like the use of partial black and white. I think the completely black and white version is not nearly as intersting, because the beautiful patterns on the rooftops no longer draw your attention.

ANP, nice shot. The lighting is fantastic. I would crop a little of the right side, though.

I love this shot of the sunset...I have always wanted to make the sun appear as large as that, but cannot with a limitation of 200mm (300 in APS terms)...the 300mm would be nice (450mm)!
