Just a few pictures from this weekend. It's my first real outing with my new D200, and I have to say that I am very happy with the results (D200 set to Vivid Image Optimization). I met a really nice guy there who also had a D200 and a horde of Nikkor high end lenses buldging out of his pockets. Without any hesitation he asked me if I wanted to try out his Nikkor 28-70 f/2.8. Couple of points worth mentioning:

1) After taking about 40 shots, and comparing to my Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 I couldnt tell any difference in quality at %100 view. Yes the HSM is amazing and it focuses quick, much faster than my noisy Sigma, but the results look comparable.

2) Photography makes a huge cold world, warm and friendly when you run into people as above mentioned. Its all about the experience, and nice photographers really add to it! You never know how small actions can make a big difference...think about this next time you are out taking pictures.

3) Never leave home without a Polarizer!

Anyhow, you can check out the images here:

I bet you're happy, there are some great shots in that little collection, the contrast of colours really jump out of some. Like the tones too. Then again I might be a tad bias;)

Great pictures as always. I especially love the first ones. But the site seems slower to load than normal ...???

The D200 file sizes come out around 7 MB in JPG format so its taking longer to view the D200 images than it did my D70s 4mb images... would be my guess.

I don't have any Nikon bias & I think they are fantastic shots. The combination of a polariser & vivid settings has really made the images jump out of the screen. Did you do any PP on them as well? Did you take any shots on standard settings & without a polariser to highlight the differences?

No post processing was done. I will shoot some images in normal so you can compare.

And I thought you were working? Oh well, I sill had to take photos. ;) If you call, I may tell you about one particular photo or you'll have to wait until it comes out in the magazine. :p Or perhaps, at this Friday's meeting if both of us show up. Nice photos too. :)

Lol Darrell... you crack me up. I had meetings up in Park City on Saturday, and on my drive back down to Vegas, I figured, what the heck... I had time to kill, so I took a detour to Zion. You are so full of mystery lol. I should be at the camera club on Friday. Lets go take some more shots of Vegas Blvd. and skip out of the meeting if its a boring competition heh!
