10 mega pixel casio a joke?

i read reviews on casio 10.0 EX z100 camera, and they said it was too many m.p. to be better than an 8.0 or less. they said it 10.0 was just a marketing ploy.
i want the best camera for $200-$300.
any advice? thanks

Almost all camera companies play this MP game. All the major companies seem to have P&S models with 10 MP now.

Look into the Fuji F30, seems to have quite good image quality in that price range. I think it's a 6MP camera with go high ISO performance.
