I'm looking for a camera to replace a five year old Canon A20. So far I'm considering the Canon S2/S3 IS, but I don't want to leave out any other good possibilities. There are so many choices out there. Thanks for the help!

---------------------------------------------

Budget- Under $400

Size-No preference

Features

How many megapixels will suffice for you? Not sure, 5-6 I guess. I don't plan on printing anything larger than 8x10, and I have a Canon I960 printer.

* What optical zoom will you need? 10x preferred (definitely over 4x)

* How important is “image quality” to you? 8

Do you care for manual controls? Not familiar but would learn

General Usage

* What will you generally use the camera for? Family stuff and car shots mostly. Occasional vacation/nature pictures.

* Will you be making big prints of your photos or not? Most likely the occasional 8x10.

Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos? Typical indoor living room sort of stuff mostly.

Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos? Occasionally pro baseball and action shots of cars (driving or racing).

Miscellaneous

Are there particular brands you like or hate? I have been happy with my Canon, but open to most brands. Though some particular models I don't like the look/feel of.

Are there particular models you already have in mind? S2/S3 IS.

(If applicable) Do you need any of the following special features? (Wide Angle, Image Stabilization, Weatherproof, Hotshoe, Rotating LCD) Image stabilization would be important as I'm not the most steady person.

Sounds like you need to check the Canon S3IS. Seems to meet most of your requirements.
