Hi,
I am just regular photographer who likes to carry his camera around and take interesting pictures from various places and different conditions. Also travel a lot.
I like to use camera point-and-shoot, but when I have time I like to “play” with it and try to learn as much as I can about photography by using it in manual mode.
Last year I was search for good pocket camera and after some research and recommendation I was bought SONY DSC-P200. It was excellent camera. I was so happy and satisfy that I start carrying my camera all around same like my mobile.
Unfortunately, my DSC-P200 was stolen from me three weeks ago. Like they was stole part of me.
Now I am looking for the new camera, but from reading all reviews my P200 is hard to replace. I do not know why SONY does not produce P series any more.
After hours of reading reviews my choice is tighten around Panasonic Lumix LX-2 (or maybe FX50). But it seams it do not have so perfect picture. For the price of 500Euro I would expect at least perfect picture. it seams LX2 is perfect in everything except most important – image quality (and slow USB that I hate also but I can live with that).
If I download LX-2 pictures from review pages, in some cases my old sony pictures are better!
So, how to replace my SONY DSC-P200 that was perfect in almost everything!?
Top speed, very good pictures (Carl Zeiss), never feel that this camera actually has battery, pocket size, small but very robust, nicely designed, easy to use and off course complete range of working modes, from full automatic over scenarios till manual mode of working.
It seams Canon best cameras like A640, A630 are like that, but I do not like brand Canon (do not ask me why).
I would appreciate any suggestion/opinion.
Or is it Lumix LX-2 good replacement and worth paying 500Euro!? I am ready to pay but then I would like to have all what I want in that camera.
Thanks in advance and have nice day
