I have read that the cybershot DSC-T5 has various video modes but I can not find an option to change the mode from the menus. One article stated that a "memory stick duo pro" would be needed to get the VGA fine ( 30fps) mode to work. I have that type of stick ( albeit small at 256M for video), but even so I thought I would see an option to change the mode. Anyone run into this or have any ideas what I may be missing?

in movie mode...I hit menu

choices are EV....FOCUS....METERING MODE....WHITE BALANCE...P.EFFECT....AND THEN SETUP. ??????

I wondered if it defaults to one setting unless there is more memory?

?
_______________edit_____

just noticed that I don't get an option to change still quality either. It was on 3Meg, then I reinitialized and it now shows 5 Meg but I don't get an option to change it while in picture menu. I think the software is fried.

Now just making sure.

To change the image size / resolution you don't use the menu button, you use the image size button... Which is the button below the menu button to the left of the main control cluster.

I read through the online user guide over and over today....I reinitialized repeatedly....I tried taking out the memory stick and reformatting it ....I went to the Sony Tech Support Chat site twice today and they were stumped as to why I could not resize anything. NOWHERE did I read or hear that it was that lower button. Now remember that this is one of the smallest cameras and I have the eyes of an old man. It's almost like reading braille just working the controls at all for an old fat fingered lineman, so I was relying on that nice big LCD screen to show me the way.

You most definitely made my day and saved me from ditching a nice little camera that I was starting to really like. But even more than the fact that you set me straight, is the fact that you were so decent about it. I would have expected a smart assed flippant comment from a techno geek who was joking with his friends about stupid this guy was.

So.....thanks....and thanks.

Thanks for the thanks!

Technology can always be relied upon to make the best of us fall flat on our face on occasion.

You should see me with cutting edge mobile phones, too many obscure little icons and images, not enough text explaining what it all means.

The first time someone left me a voice message on my new phone, it only took me 20 minutes to find in the tiny manual what the strange little icon that was flashing at the top of the screen meant !
